Celtic send Rangers statement as they tell rivals they 'do their talking on the pitch'

Scottish football have been full of official club statements in recent weeks but Celtic have been removed from the recriminations.

But the Hoops didn't miss a chance to take a playful pop at rivals Rangers - who have been at the forefront of the war with the SPFL - with a twitter post as they enjoyed their usual Saturday 'rewatch' party.

Celtic, along with many other clubs, have been filling Saturday afternoon with replays of famous wins and this time it was the 5-0 thumping over Rangers to clinch seven in a row two years ago.

Odsonne Edouard's double and goals from Tom Rogic, Callum McGregor and James Forrest had the Hoops five goals up and cruising and only an inspired performance from Jak Alnwick stopped Rangers getting beat by even more.

But while in the virtual world the Hoops were watching their team celebrate again, on Twitter they decided to have a pop at their old rivals.

In a tweet they said: "Celtic Football Club Statement.

"The Bhoys do their talking on the pitch and become #Magnifen7 Champions at Paradise."

The Hoops are set to clinch their ninth league title in a row if the Premiership is called in the coming weeks.

With the SPFL having already called the lower leagues, the top flight is set to join as the battle against the coronavirus crisis continues.
