Celtic's potential Europa League group stage opponents with Midtjylland and Lazio reunions possible

It was Midtyjlland that knocked Celtic out of the Champions League qualifiers.

But Ange Postecoglou ’s men could get a chance at revenge in the Europa League.

The Hoops booked their spot in the the group stages by beating AZ Alkmaar 3-2 on aggregate after the second leg of their play-off round tie.

And now they have a better idea of who they could face in Friday’s draw with some potentially mouthwatering ties awaiting the Scottish Premiership side.

They are in pot two alongside Rangers, which means there can be no Celtic Park return for Brendan Rogers, with Leicester City also in there.

Midtjylland are in pot four, with the likes of Napoli, Lazio, Leverkusen and Monaco also in with a chance of drawing the Glasgow side.

Under Neil Lennon, a late Olivier Ntcham goal recorded a famous win against the blue half of Rome to secure progress to the knockout stages in November 2019.
