Celtic's potential Champions League qualifiers pushed back after latest UEFA decision

Celtic's potential Champions League qualifiers next season have been pushed back after UEFA's latest postponements.

The governing body held a conference call with all of Europe's 55 football authorities to discuss the next steps amid the coronavirus pandemic, where they confirmed the suspension of this season's Europa League and the Champions League, until July at the earliest.

That means next season's qualifiers, which usually start in July, will be delayed as a result.

A statement read: "The deadlines related to all 2020/21 UEFA club competitions are postponed until further notice, in particular as regards the admission process and the registration of players. UEFA will set new deadlines in due course."

Neil Lennon's men have not officially booked their place in next year's edition, but are expected to seal the Premiership title when football is resumed, 13 points clear of rivals Rangers.

If they qualify, Celtic have four sets of qualifers before they can reach the group stages.

All international matches have also been called off, including Scotland's Euro 2020 playoff clash against Israel.
