Celtic's Odsonne Edouard to AC Milan transfer stance as January signing plans revealed

Celtic will tell Milan to 'forget' about a January move for Odsonne Edouard.

The Serie A side have been linked with the Frenchman in the lead up to the transfer window as they look for Zlatan Ibrahmovic's successor.

Reports in Italy claim Edouard is at the top of their shortlist alongside Real Madrid's Luka Jovic and Genoa's Gianluca Scamacca, who is on loan at Sassuolo.

But the Celtic talisman would be the preferred option as they look to pay a fee over the course of multiple seasons, similar to a deal that was agreed for Jens Peter Hauge.

But the Parkhead side are set to tell the Italians that Edouard is not for sale in the upcoming window as they have no intention of parting ways with their prized asset amid their Premiership title push, reports the Daily Record.

The same report states Celtic might allow some fringe players to leave in January, but they plan to strengthen ahead of the second half of the season.

The Hoops hope to add at least one more player, ideally another winger with James Forrest sidelined until February.
