Celtic's Jack Hendry fires home brilliant Scotland opener against Netherlands

Scotland got their Euro 2020 preparations off to the perfect start this evening courtesy of Celtic centre-back Jack Hendry.

Steve Clarke's men travelled to the Algarve to face the Dutch in the soaring Portuguese heat, as the Scots prepare for their first appearance at a major tournament since the 1998 World Cup.

Hendry was handed a starting berth after an impressive season on-loan from Celtic at Belgian side Oostende and he didn't waste any time in proving he deserved it.

After a bright start, Hendry smashed Scotland in-front after just 11 minutes, with his effort from the edge of the penalty area, leaving goalkeeper Tim Krul helplessly beaten:

He might be a Celtic player for now, but Hendry might not be staying at Parkhead for much longer, with speculation growing that Oostende will take up an option to buy the centre-back on a permanent basis this summer.
