'Celtic's atmosphere will engulf you' gobsmacked Jablonec keeper raves about his Parkhead Euro experience

Jablonec keeper Jan Hanus admits he was left struggling to concentrate amid the raucous atmosphere created inside Celtic Park as fans returned in full after 17 months away.

Ange Postecoglou 's side were too hot to handle as they ran out 3-0 winners to secure a 7-2 aggregate triumph over the Czech side to set up a playoff clash with AZ Alkmaar.

Celtic supporters ramped up the volume from first minute to last for the first time since the pandemic hit in March 2020 as David Turnbull grabbed a brace and James Forrest scored.

And the man between the sticks for the opposition admits the colour and noise within the stadium had an effect on the visitors.

Speaking to Sport.CZ, Hanus said: "I tried not to notice the atmosphere, but it didn't work out at all. Such a match will completely engulf you, so that you often do not even know what is happening around you.

"Even when I came to the stadium, I felt great because I drew from that great atmosphere. I was really looking forward to that match and completely fulfilled my expectations. Right at the beginning, their attacker (Kyogo Furuhashi) went through one-on-one with me and I kept him out"

Jablonec boss Petr Rada believes his players weren't scarred despite his pre-match fears and reckons his side were unlucky not to make more of their chances.

He said: "It's always good for football when there's such a backdrop. I don't think it left any traces on our players. We played from the first minute the way we wanted.

"The players wanted it and felt good, it was also visible at half-time that there was no defeatist mood.

"In the second half we wanted to be dangerous, we created our chances, but the home team decided it with a shot from behind the line."
