Celtic rocked ahead of Motherwell match as key Hoops star doubt to face Steelmen

Motherwell's weekend opponents Celtic have been hit with a big injury problem ahead of Sunday's match as Kyogo Furuhashi suffers a hamstring injury.

The Japanese forward has lit up the Premiership since his arrival in the summer and is one of the Hoops' main danger men.

He was subbed on during the Parkhead club's dead-rubber Europa League finale against Real Betis after striker Albian Ajeti pulled up injured on 30 minutes.

Furuhashi suffered the same fate - a hamstring injury - 40 minutes later as the injuries continue to pile up for Ange Postecoglou's side.

Motherwell begin their Premiership battle with Celtic in two days' time and Postecoglou told BT Sport that the initial assessments on his Japanese striker are 'not good.'

He said: "We were maybe going to give Kyogo a bit less time but obviously Albian also got a hamstring injury.

"We're just going through a rough trot that never seems to end but we'll cope.

"It's not good. We'll need to wait and see what the assessment is. We don't have the squad to cope with it at the moment."

Celtic are already without key attacker Jota but Motherwell have injury issues of their own.

Graham Alexander's side finished last week's match against Hibs with one fit centre-back - Bevis Mugabi - and the 'Well boss has confirmed his starting XI in Glasgow will have some alterations. 'Well sit fifth in the league.
