Celtic rising star Ewan Henderson a transfer target for Dundee as 'loan deal' on the table

Dundee have contacted Celtic about a loan move for youngster Ewan Henderson, according to a report.

Scottish Championship clubs are allowed to sign players on short term deals until the end of February despite the closure of the transfer window.

And The Evening Telegraph claims James McPake has 'enquired' about a possible short-term deal for rising star Henderson and await a decision from the Parkhead club.

First team opportunities for the 20-year-old have been few and far between this season, but has impressed in flashes and is considered a key part of Celtic's future.

But getting regular minutes from now until the end of the season would help his development and promotion-chasing Dundee could be a good landing spot after the injury to Jordan McGhee who underwent surgery earlier in the week.

Henderson's contract runs out in the summer of 2022 and Neil Lennon hopes he will be a part of the inevitable rebuild with the arrival of new chief executive Dominic McKay.

A mass exodus of players is expected at the end of the season which could, in turn, see Henderson climb up the pecking order.
