Celtic reveal special Billy McNeill and Stevie Chalmers tribute plan for Scottish Cup Final

Celtic will wear numbers 5 and 9 on their shorts for the Scottish Cup Final in memory of Lisbon Lions Billy McNeill and Stevie Chalmers.

Both legends passed away in recent weeks after illness and the game against Hearts will be exactly 52 years after the final in Lisbon in 1967.

McNeill captained the Hoops team while Chalmers scored the winning goal in the 2-1 victory over Inter Milan to lift the European Cup.

The players will also walk out wearing alternate jackets with McNeill 5 and Chalmers 9 emblazoned on the back.

One of the numbers will be on the front left and the other on the back right, in the way Celtic players did in the 1960s when the two players were in their prime.

Celtic are on course to claim a treble Treble if they beat Hearts at Hampden on May 25.

They've already lifted the Betfred Cup and clinched the Premiership trophy this season.

The Scottish Cup would be the club's ninth consecutive trophy success.
