Celtic have received a loan enquiry from Plymouth Argyle for Stephen Welsh, according to a report.
The EFL League One side's interest in the central defender are at an early stage but there has been contact between the two clubs.
According to Sky Sports, Celtic are considering the offer and whether or not to send the 25-year-old out to England's third tier.
Welsh spent the second half of last season on loan at KV Mechelen in Belgium's top flight and impressed across his 17 appearances.

He has had interest from Belgium as a result but Plymouth have now thrown their hat into the ring.
Argyle were relegated from the English Championship last season and are looking to recruit at centre-back after ex-Rangers star Nikola Katic moved on after his loan spell, and Maksym Talovierov signed for Stoke City.
They currently have Brendan Galloway, Victor Palsson, Julio Pleguezuelo and Kornel Szucs.
Welsh is contracted to Celtic until May 2027 but could move on in search of regular football, with Cameron Carter-Vickers, Liam Scales and Auston Trusty preferred. The Parkhead club could add another in that area and are looking to loan in Manchester City's Jahmai Simpson-Pusey.
