Celtic put 'valuation' on Rocco Vata as high price set amid Manchester City following 'closely'

Rocco Vata is a reported transfer target for a clutch of the biggest clubs in Europe, including Manchester City.

The English Premier League champions have signed a host of Scottish players for their academy sides and 17-year-old Parkhead starlet Vata is the latest to be linked to Pep Guardiola's side, who are following him 'closely' according to Tuttomercato. Juventus, Roma and Arsenal are also said to be keen while there's also some admiration in Milan.

A youth international for the Republic of Ireland, the youngster played a part in pre-season for manager Ange Postecoglou, but the Australian does not view him as a member for his first team quite yet. Vata has featured in the UEFA Youth League that mirrors the senior side's Champions League Group F campaign and has had the experience of playing against top talents from Spanish giants Real Madrid, Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk and German side RB Leipzig.

There's also been exposure to playing against senior players as part of the 'B' team which takes part at Lowland League level. The report states 'the valuation is around 2 million.'

There has been plenty of interest within the Celtic fanbase over Vata, with the winger's father being club hero Rudi Vata.

Next up for the Premiership champions is a trip to Hearts, where they could extend their lead at the top of the league to five points.
