Celtic prove Europa League star attraction as Copenhagen fans race to snap up tickets

Excited Copenhagen supporters have hoovered up 21,000 tickets in a day to see their crunch Europa League showdown with Celtic in February.

The Hoops face the Danes in the last 32 and the first leg at the 38,000-seater Parken Stadium will almost certainly be a sell out.

Copenhagen were caught on the hop at the level of interest shown after their season ticket holders rushed to get briefs for the tie with an unprecedented number bought.

They stated: "Due to the very high demand for tickets, it is highly unlikely tickets will now go on a public sale and will only be available to fans registered with the club."

Copenhagen are charging their fans a lowest price of £22 for a ticket which rises to £80 for the top seats.

Celtic are targeting an extended run in the competition after easing through Group E with minimal fuss.

The Hoops defeated Serie A big-hitters Lazio in consecutive fixtures as they earned a record 13-point haul in a group stage section.
