Celtic pre-season Tour de France revealed as Neil Lennon set for two cities and glamour friendlies

Celtic are gearing up for a Tour de France of a different kind in two separate pre-season glamour friendlies.

Record Sport understands the Parkhead club are edging closer to an agreement to take part in a tournament in Lyon.

The Hoops will travel there to face the host side as well as Nice as they aim to get fighting fit for the upcoming crack at 10 In A Row.

They will then travel north to Paris, where they will take on Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.

The club's last journey to the French capital saw them defeated 7-1, despite Moussa Dembele scoring a shock opener in the Parc des Princes.

And Dembele will be reunited with his former Glasgow pals in the game against Lyon, the side he joined from Celtic in 2018 for £20million.

Reports from France on Thursday had suggested the Ligue 1 giants were scrambling to find a fourth club to participate in the tournament after Stade Rennes knocked back their offer but it's set to go ahead regardless.

Manager Neil Lennon has been keen to organise matches against tough opposition but with England's Premier League and Championship still to finish, he's had to look abroad.

The Netherlands was also suggested as a possible destination, with the Eredivisie season declared over with no title winner, but France has sealed Celtic’s participation.

The Ligue 1 season ended early at the end of April, with PSG declared champions.
