Celtic poised for Moussa Dembele transfer windfall as Juventus target in-form striker

Juventus are eyeing a shock deadline-busting deal to bring Moussa Dembele to Serie A.

The Italian champions sent scouts to watch the forward bag a brace in Lyon's 6-0 win over Angers on Friday as he made it 28 goals in 35 starts for the Ligue 1 side.

And Maurizio Sarri's side interest could boost Celtic 's coffers as the Premiership side have a significant sell-on fee for their former star turn.

Juventus have waved the white flag of their pursuit of Inter Milan talisman Mauro Icardi and have turned their attentions to Dembele, who cannot now sign for admirers Manchester United and Arsenal because the English transfer window is closed.

And that's certain to be of huge interest to the Hoops, as they could be set to land a bumper fee for the forward who is rated in excess of £40m

Dembele moved to Lyon in a £19.8m deal last year and has been a smash-hit in France.

Earlier this summer, both Dembele himself and Lyon's president insisted he would see out the season in France, where Lyon are trying to wrestle the title away from PSG.

But cash-rich Juventus, who have already spent £165 million this summer, could make Lyon and Dembele an offer they can't refuse before the end of the Italian transfer window on September 2.

And that could mean another windfall for Celtic, who have already banked £25 million from the sale of Kieran Tierney to Arsenal.
