Celtic players ratings vs Rangers - as Kristoffer Ajer shines in Old Firm victory

Scott Bain - 6

Beaten by the only shot on target he faced all game.

Mikael Lustig  - 7

Left for dead by Kent for the Gers' equaliser, but apart from that, produced a solid defensive display.

Dedryck Boyata - 5

A poor display from the centre-back, who was easily beaten by Kent and was careless in possession throughout. Also forced his side to play with 10 men after limping off injured with the Hoops having used all three substitutes.

Kristoffer Ajer - 8

Outstanding display from the defender, who produced a crucial last-ditch challenge on Joe Worral to stop Rangers grabbing another equaliser at the death.

Kieran Tierney - 7

Started really brightly and was a constant threat down the right. But his lack of game time showed in the second-half, and he eventually limped off injured to be replaced by Jeremy Toljan.

Celtic player ratings of the season so far: Callum McGregor a class act but Mikael Lustig looks past it

Scott Brown - 7

The key man in the middle of the park, the central midfielder was his usual busy self. Also did well to keep his cool as things boiled over on a couple of occasions.

Oliver Ntcham - 6

Struggled to impose himself on the game and was replaced by Tom Rogic on 64 minutes.

Callum McGregor - 7

Created the winning goal for his side and was a cool composed figure on the ball.

James Forrest - 8

A constant threat to the Rangers backline. The forward helped set-up his sides opener before keeping his cool to fire home the winner.

Jonny Hayes - 5

A poor display from Hayes who struggled to get himself into the game in the first-half, and was replaced at the interval by Scott Sinclair.

Odsonne Edouard - 7

Another who was a constant threat to the Gers backline - took his goal really well and showed real intelligence to set-up Forrest for the games winning goal.

Substitutes

Scott Sinclair - 6

Frustrating afternoon for the winger, who was caught offside on numerous occasions.

Tom Rogic - 7

First game back after two months out. Took time to settle but kept his side ticking over.

Jeremy Toljan - 7

Offered plenty of width and was solid defensively.
