Celtic player ratings vs St Mirren as Kyogo sinks Saints with brace in comfortable Parkhead victory

Celtic stormed past St Mirren at Parkhead to notch up 4-0 win against the only side to inflict a defeat on them this season in league action.

The Hoops began on the front foot but survived a scare when Curtis Main flicked the ball over Joe Hart only to see his goal ruled out for offside. Liel Abada then smashed home inside the box after Carl Starfelt and debutant Yuki Kobayashi went close from a corner. Postecoglou's men flexed their muscles when a lovely ball from Josip Juranovic landed at Kyogo's feet but he improvised with a stunning lob to beat Trevor Carson.

In the second half, Kyogo was on target again after a defence-splitting ball from Jota allowed the Japanese to slide through and after a VAR check was confirmed as onside. James Forrest, however, saw his tap in ruled out as Kyogo was ultimately offside in the build-up. That was before David Turnbull put the icing on the cake with a rocket five minutes before time to seal a win.

Joe Hart - 6

Good outstretched save in the first half. Was saved by the bar in the second half. Still alive in the final moments with a save.

Josip Juranovic - 8

Lots of pace and energy on his least favoured left side. Nice assist to Kyogo for the second and carried a threat all night.

Yuki Kobayashi - 7

Looked steady on his debut and saw an effort hit the post. Comfortable throughout and will be happy with his showing.

Carl Starfelt - 7

Anchoring the defence and a menace in the box from corners. Some big moments to come across and aid Kobayashi.

Alistair Johnston - 8

Good strength and movement, seems to be coming in to his own. Can even take a throw-in on his backside.

Callum McGregor - 7

Working the engine room well as Hatate and O'Riley ventured forward. A relatively quiet night for the skipper.

Reo Hatate - 7

Eased in to the first half and was able to do his usual long-ball play in the second.

Matt O'Riley - 6

Back in the side with good link-up but still a tad hesitant in key moments.

Liel Abada - 8

A live wire throughout the opening stages and smashed the ball home. Carried a threat constantly.

Jota - 8

Looked lively with his footwork without too many chances. A simply inch-perfect pass in to Kyogo for goal number three. Good play from the winger across the 90.

Kyogo - 9

A strong start and a delightful chip to beat Trevor Carson. Another top run and finish in the second half. An all-round nuisance to the Buddies defence all night.

Subs:

James Forrest - 5

Unlucky to see his goal chopped off for Kyogo's offside.

Aaron Mooy - 4

Comfortable in the late stages.

David Turnbull - 6

Some nice passing late on and sent a rocket past Carson for 4-0.

Daizen Maeda - 3

On for the final ten with pace.

Sead Haksabanovic - 3

Back in the fold with some key minutes.
