Celtic player ratings v Sparta Prague as host of Hoops stars suffer Europa League horror show

Here are your Celtic player ratings from the heavy 4-1 defeat at home to Sparta Prague in the Europa League.

Bain

A couple of big saves to deny the visitors in the early stages. Didn't really make any glaring errors, but no Celtic keeper should accept losing four goals at home. 5

Laxalt

Not quite as impressive as he was v Lille last week, but looked composed at full-back and competed well throughout. Comes out of this in a better light than some of his teammates. 6

Duffy

Important challenge to deny Karlsson while 2-0 down, but just continues to look uneasy in the Celtic defence. Beaten far too easily for the third goal. Use of the ball wasn't great either. Not good. 4

Bitton

Should've stopped the cross for the second goal. Looked vulnerable whenever the Sparta Prague attackers ran at him. Showed he can play centre back in previous matches, but this wasn't his finest hour. 5

Frimpong

So much energy down the right wing, and looked Celtic's most dangerous attacker at times. Can't fault him for energy or enthusiasm. 6

Brown

Not his best night by a long stretch. Struggled to have any impact on the match. Taken off for Elhamed as Celtic changed shape just before the 60-minute mark. 5

McGregor

Probably beaten too easily for the second goal. Grabbed hold of the game for a period in the second half, after Griffiths' goal and Celtic stepped things up. Wasn't able to sustain it though. 5

Rogic

Played a big part in Griffiths' goal after his shot was blocked by the Sparta 'keeper. Didn't offer enough throughout the full match though, and wasn't able to hit the levels he did against Aberdeen on Sunday. 5

Christie

Brilliant pass to create golden opportunity for Elyounoussi while 1-0 down and showed some neat touches. Booked for a late challenge as the clock ran away from Celtic. 6

Elyounoussi

Hit the bar but probably should've scored after excellent in-swinging pass from Christie. Plenty of energy and always trying to create for the opening hour, but very little came off for him. Subbed for Griffiths with 30 minutes to go. 6

Edouard

Started brightly but ultimately didn't offer enough. Celtic needed him to step up with a big moment when they were struggling needed one, but never really looked like making anything happen. Needs to be more involved. Subbed for Ajeti.
