Celtic player ratings: David Turnbull shows class with trademark strike but Albian Ajeti poor

Here are Celtic's player ratings as David Turnbull helps the Parkhead side secure a 1-0 win over Aberdeen.

Celtic player ratings

Bain - Was scrambling when Florian Kamberi hit the post, but did well to deny a flurry of late Aberdeen chances. A comfortable night for the keeper. 7

Kenny - Another solid display as he makes it five wins out of five since joining the club. Maybe didn't get forward as much as he would have liked., however. 6

Ajer - Launched attacks for Celtic as he charged out from the back and defended well at the other end up against Hornby and Kamberi. 8

Welsh - Winning return to the side as Neil Lennon opted to start him over Shane Duffy and Celtic's defence looked a lot more assured with him in it. 7

Taylor - Continues his impressive form as he got to the by-line time after time. A constant threat. 7

Soro - In the thick of things up against Lewis Ferguson, but dealt with attacker effectively. Broke up play regularly and allowed Callum McGregor to get further forward, but his passing was a bit loose at times. 6

McGregor - Excellent performance from the midfielder as he dictated play in the first half. Able to get into dangerous areas and set up David Turnbull for his opener. 7

Turnbull - Standout performer for Celtic with another stunning strike to add to his collection. Pulled the strings in midfield and Aberdeen struggled to deal with him. 8

Christie - Didn't quite make the impact going forward he is accustom to, but excellent work rate in the second half to keep the Dons at bay. 6

Edouard - A bright first half as he wasted a couple of chances, but didn't get much service after the break. 6

Ajeti - Started up top alongside Odsonne Edouard, but hooked at the hour mark and didn't get into the game whatsoever. 4

Subs:

Rogic - A couple of slack passes and didn't really make an impact. 3

Brown - On to see out the win as Aberdeen pushed for an equaliser and made some vital clearances. 5

Klimala - Lively when he came on and denied late on from Joe Lewis. 5

Elyounoussi - Quiet cameo apperance from the winger. 3
