Celtic player ratings as Tom Rogic rolls back the years in display packed with wizardry

David Turnbull hit a double as Celtic swept to a 3-0 Europa League victory over Jablonec in front of a raucous Parkhead crowd.

Turnbull slotted his first goal of the season midway through the first half before producing one of his trademark long-range efforts after the break.

James Forrest wrapped up a 7-2 aggregate victory which sent Celtic through to a play-off against AZ Alkmaar.

Three stands at Celtic Park were full - the main stand capacity is still limited by Covid protocols - and the sell-out crowd watched Ange Postecoglou 's side secure a comfortable third consecutive win.

JOE HART : The big keeper was barely troubled in the first half but produced two outstanding saves after the break to stifle any chance of a comeback from the Czechs - 7

ANTHONY RALSTON: The right back was steady and solid enough. Didn’t get forward too often but didn’t have to with Forrest in front of him. Another good display - 6

STEPHEN WELSH; Young defender kept his place after helping to keep a clean sheet at weekend and looked entirely at home. Used the ball well and did the basics properly - 7

CARL STARFELT: The Swede wasn’t stretched too much but did get away with what looked like a clear foul, and penalty, in the box after the break. Still not entirely convincing but did okay - 6

GREG TAYLOR: Played a pivotal role in the opening goal, nicking the ball high up the pitch and playing in Turnbull. Used the ball well and was an influence - 6

CALLUM McGREGOR: Set the tone right from the start with his determination to get on the ball and make things happen but Hart bailed him out when short with a passback - 6

DAVID TURNBULL: Always looking to get in on the attacking action and got his reward with two terrific goal, showing plenty of composure to clip the first home then a bullet for the second - 8

JAMES FORREST: In from the start and relished getting at his full back. Look fit, sharp and quick, reacted well for his goal and will have benefited from the run-out - 7

TOM ROGIC : A second straight start for the Aussie and he was a terrific watch, spraying the ball around and gliding past challenges. Ran out of steam a bit and was subbed - 8

RYAN CHRISTIE: Came into the match in sparkling form and although he wasn’t as eye-catching last night he more than played his part on the left - 6

KYOGO FURUHASHI: Sunday’s hat-trick hero looked as sharp as a tack. Should have scored in the first minute and was always a threat with his pace in behind. Took a sore in second half - 7

***
Subs:
ODSONNE EDOUARD: Replaced Kyogo and almost scored the goal that was claimed by Forrest - 4

ISMAILA SORO: On for Rogic in the 73rd minute - 2

ADAM MONTGOMERY: Youngster got a late second half run-out for Christie - 2

ALBIAN AJETI: Came on for Turnbull as part of a late treble switch - 2

NIR BITTON: Late sub for McGregor in the middle of the park - 1
