Celtic player ratings as Scott Brown's final derby ends in disappointment

John Kennedy was forced to watch helplessly from the sidelines as Celtic turned in yet another underwhelming and wayward performance against their bitter rivals.

Kennedy will be especially upset, once again, by his side's meek and tepid defending, with Jonjoe Kenny once again failing to convince, and Stephen Welsh enduring a bit of a nightmare.

Mohamed Elyounoussi provided a couple of promising attacks, and Odsonne Edouard too his goal well, but it's another day to forget for the deposed champions, who go through an entire season without a victory over Rangers for the first time since the 1999/2000 season.

Scott Bain

The Celtic goalie didn't really do too much wrong, but he didn't do too much to convince either. Could've perhaps done better for Morelos's strike, and it remains to be seen if he has a long-term future at Parkhead. 5

Jonjoe Kenny

Another underwhelming display from the on-loan right-back. Always looked suspect when attacked and constantly wasteful in possession. 3

Stephen Welsh

The centre-half was made to look rather silly for Jermain Defoe's late goal, with his attempt at defending perfectly reflecting the Hoops' defending all season. 4

Kristoffer Ajer

Enjoyed several trademark runs forward from defence, and almost scored an absolute screamer, but he didn't really dominate his area and failed to sniff out danger on several occasions. 5

Greg Taylor

Wasn't at the scene of the crime particularly for any of Rangers' goals, but struggled to cope with the pace of the attacks facing him, and didn't really lay a glove in an attacking sense. 5

Callum McGregor

Might feel slightly hard-done-by after receiving his marching orders for two yellow cards before the half-hour mark but he definitely should've had enough experience to know not to tackle so recklessly when already on a caution. 2

Scott Brown

A really disappointing farewell to the derby matches for a player who has enjoyed so many commanding displays in this fixture over the years.

Kent, Aribo and Davis often left Brown looking isolated and struggling to keep up with the speed of Rangers' attack. 4

Mohamed Elyounoussi

One of the few bright spots in Celtic's afternoon. Rattled the crossbar in the first-half and constantly looked like the only player in green and white capable of threatening the Rangers defence. 5

David Turnbull

A disappointing display from the attacking midfielder, who struggled to make any sort of impact on proceedings. 4

James Forrest

Lasted just under an hour of only his fourth appearance since September. Definitely provided more width but looked a tad off the pace. 4

Odsonne Edouard

Looked like he was already dreaming of where he'll be playing next season.

Took his goal well, and provided several nice touches, but he didn't look to interested for much of the contest. 4

Subs

Mikey Johnston

Late sub, didn't offer much impact. 2

Ryan Christie

Struggled to get into the game after coming on with half-an-hour remaining. 2

Ismaila Soro

Pretty poor showing, epitomised by his wayward pass in the build-up to Rangers' fourth. 2
