Celtic player ratings as Scott Brown rolls back the years with controlling performance

Celtic got back to winning ways against Aberdeen - and Scott Brown was the best player on the pitch.

The midfielder hasn't necessarily been at his best this season but he performed well at Celtic Park on Saturday afternoon.

He was the player who controlled everything for the Hoops and although it was Odsonne Edouard who opened the scoring, it was Brown who was the key man.

It was a good start to life in the Celtic manager's chair for John Kennedy and maybe Brown still has enough in it to stick around next season.

Bain

Didn't have many saves to make but looked a bit ropey with the ball at his feet in the first half. Quiet afternoon for him. 6

Kenny

Put in a great ball in the first half where Klimala should have scored and defended well against Hayes. 7

Welsh

Had no issues with Kamberi or Hendry and showed why he's so highly rated at Celtic Park yet again. 7

Ajer

Building a good relationship with Welsh and the pair dealt with Hendry and Kamberi very well throughout the game. 7

Laxalt

Probably the best performance of his in a Celtic jersey in the first half as he caused all sorts of problems. Not as creative in the second period. 7

Brown

Controlled the tempo of the game from the middle of the park and showed he still has plenty left in the tank going forward. 8

McGregor

Along with Brown, completely controlled the midfield battle and left Aberdeen with no chance of building anything through Campbell, Ferguson and McCrorie. 7

Turnbull

Not at his best today and was hooked after 75 minutes for Soro. Definitely not a game to remember for him. 6

Christie

Was more like his old self at times but still was to rash with his shooting and probably lucky to last the 90 minutes. 6

Klimala

Got an opportunity to show what he could do but missed a sitter in the first half and was hooked after an hour. 6

Edouard

Scored the only goal of the game and showed his fancy footwork on more than one occasion. A real threat throughout the match. 7

Subs

Elyounoussi

On for half an hour and showed some good skills a few times but didn't really do enough. 3

Soro

His first contribution was to send Aberdeen on the attack and didn't really do much in his 15 minutes. 2
