Celtic player ratings as Odsonne Edouard, Scott Brown and Fraser Forster earn stunning scores

A first ever win in Italy saw Celtic qualify for the last 32 of the Europa League on a stunning night in Rome.

The Hoops all-but knocked Lazio out of the competition with a last-gasp goal from Olivier Ntcham which, combined with Cluj's win over Rennes, assured the Scottish champions of their place in the knockouts.

Neil Lennon 's side were under the cosh at times but had plenty of chances of their own on what will go down as a famous victory.

Here's how the players rated at the Stadio Olimpico...

Fraser Forster

Outstanding. Flapped at a couple of crosses but who cares when he is capable of making a string of incredible saves to keep a top side at bay - 9

Hatem Abd Elhamed

Overcame a shaky start but was rock solid as the game wore on, making key interceptions and building from the back - 8

Kris Ajer

Produced a brilliant last gasp challenge to halt Ciro Immobile’s run and made several other crucial interceptions but had his work cut out against Lazio’s front two - 8

Christopher Jullien

Lost out in the aerial battle for the opener and found it tough to keep Immobile at bay but was at his best when in rearguard action - 8

Jonny Hayes

Struggled to contain Lazzari early on but grew in to the game and always showed for teammates while being neat on the ball - 8

Scott Brown

Vintage stuff from the Hoops leader as he anchored the midfield to wrestle control of the game helping the Hoops keep possession or busting a gut to get it back - 9

Callum McGregor

It was tiring just watching the midfield dynamo harassing the life out of Lazio rivals and forcing mistakes and driving his side forward - 8

Ryan Christie

Never scared to take the ball in tight areas and was an absolute machine when it came to leading the charge in Celtic’s high pressing game - 8

James Forrest

Kept up his incredible form this season with another moment of magic. His finish was world class and his effort was incredible - 8

Mohamed Elyounoussi

Wasn’t allow much time and space to operate but did thread the through ball to tee up Forrest to level and was more of a threat in a thrilling second half - 8

Odsonne Edouard

Put in a phenomenal shift up top, constantly running the channels and taking the ball in to to feet. Should have scored but brilliantly set up the winner - 9
