Celtic player ratings as Kobayashi toils in derby baptism of fire and Jota fails to hit heights on day to forget

It won't have an impact on how they end their season but there's no doubt Celtic will still feel the pain of a derby thrashing at the hands of rivals Rangers at Ibrox.

Ange Postecoglou and his man are still odds-on to finis the campaign with a domestic clean sweep but the 3-0 loss still might give them a bit to think about for next season. The Parkhead boss gave some of his fringe men a chance to impress but they failed to take it as Gers strolled to a commanding victory.

The defeat means they can't break their points record but it was still only a second domestic loss of an impressive campaign. Here, Record Sport takes a look at how the visitors performed on what was a rare drop in the extremely highly standards set by the champions under Postecoglou.

JOE HART - Pushed out John Lundstram shot straight to Cantwell for opening goal and no chance with the Souttar header. Made a recovery save from another strike from the opening scorer after the interval. Exposed as Sakala scored. 6

ANTHONY RALSTON - Scotland defender had to watch as Sakala attempted to make decisive runs. Looked to support Abada and perfect centre for Israeli’s first-half chance. Difficult day for the right-back. 5

CARL STARFELT - Swede was the senior figure in the backline and tried to organise. Had to chase back to cover a couple of dangerous Sakala runs. Best of defence until badly caught out at the third Rangers goal when sacked by Cantwell. 6

YUKI KOBAYASHI - Japanese in at centre-back and tough going. Not reactive as Cantwell pounced on a rebound before him to score and shrugged aside by Souttar at the second Rangers goal. Tough baptism to fixture. 5

ALEXANDRO BERNABEI - Left-back was in ahead of Greg Taylor and battled his side. No shortage of energy without being able to exert any sort of influence on the attacking side. Loose with some passing in central area. 5

CALLUM McGREGOR - Skipper was not at his most influential as Rangers did a good job in the middle of the park. Captain was booked in the second period and involved in a horrible mix-up which resulted in Rangers’ third. 6

REO HATATE - Player of the Year contender had little moments before break and rifled a half volley over the bar. Tried to get on it and make things happen for his team, but was closely attended by the home midfield and unable to escape. 6

MATT O’RILEY - Midfielder was involved from the outset with good movement and passing. Picked up pockets of space as he tried to engineer openings. Driving run and chip saved by McCrorie in second half. 7

LIEL ABADA - Good run and pass set up chance for Oh to hit post. Israeli got free in the box for a strike which was brilliantly blocked by Lundstram. Faded as the contest went on and was replaced by Maeda just after an hour. 5

OH HYEON-GYU - South Korean got the nod ahead of Kyogo and hit the post with an early one-on-one. Battled hard against Goldson and Souttar before making way for the top scorer with 30 minutes remaining. 5

JOTA - Winger tried to run at Tavernier down the Celtic left. Not much success as a creative force and had to do plenty of backtracking. Portuguese did not hit his usual heights. 5

SUBSTITUTES

DAIZEN MAEDA - Onto the left flank for the last 30 minutes and no joy. 3

DAVID TURNBULL - Midfielder went into an advanced role and got involved. 3

SEAD HAKSABANOVIC - Took up a post on the right and tried to make passes. 3
