Celtic player plans transfer talks but star in the dark over his future after confirmed Airdrie interest

Kerr McInroy says he is entering an 'exciting' time as the Celtic player prepares for talks over his future following a good run of form at Airdrie.

The midfielder has emerged as a key player for Diamonds manager Ian Murray since his loan arrival at the club in October.

He has been an ever-present for the League One outfit and netted sublime goals against Alloa and Queen's Park before notching a winning assist against Dumbarton last Sunday as Airdrie racked up three wins in eight days.

McInroy will return to Celtic following Airdrie's league match with East Fife this weekend and the midfielder says he has developed his confidence in Lanarkshire.

The 21-year-old has already confirmed that his long-term future likely doesn't lie with the Hoops. McInroy's contract in Glasgow expires in the summer.

He said: "It was another good win for us at Dumbarton and we were able to cap off a really good week. We've picked up some great results.

"We showed a different side to us at Dumbarton. We had to battle away and stick in to get those three points. We got nine points from nine available in that run so we are delighted.

"Momentum is massive. Going into games off the back of wins gives you confidence. I'm just trying to shoot as much as I can! I've netted two good goals.

"I've been growing in confidence and I probably lacked that a bit. Now I feel more confident when I go out to the pitch."

While enjoying his time with the Diamonds, McInroy is no further forward on what happens over the rest of this season. But he isn't too worried.

McInroy explained: "I'm really unsure about the rest of the month. I need to have a couple of meetings this week to see what I am doing.

"But at the moment I don't have a clue. It's more exciting than something to worry about. I've been putting it off and off again.

"I've really enjoyed my time at Airdrie. It's been great for me and exactly what I needed."
