Celtic Park atmosphere branded 'crap' by Tam McManus

The atmosphere at Celtic Park has been branded 'crap' by a former Hibernian striker.

Tam McManus has blasted the atmosphere - or lack of - after Brendan Rodgers' men thumped his former side last night.

His comments come amid the absence of the Green Brigade at Celtic games.

The ultras group is currently suspended from attending both home and away matches while an ongoing dispute with the club's board is resolved.

The ban has been in place since the end of October and affects around 250 members. Celtic cited several points of 'unacceptable conduct' for the reasoning behind the decision, something the Green Brigade has questioned since.

On the park, Celtic needed no special help from the home crowd as they comfortably dispatched Nick Montgomery's side 4-1 to remain top of the Premiership by eight points.

Taking to social media post-match, McManus had some thoughts on the game to share - one of which was about the poor atmosphere.

Taking to X, he said: "Few takeaways from the game. Big transfer window coming up for Nick Montgomery in January. Needs to strengthen that defence or he is in trouble.

"Atmosphere at Celtic Park crap. Only fans I could hear were small band of Hibs fans in corner. Mikey Johnston not the answer for Celtic."

The pundit appeared to agree with the traveling Hibs supporters inside the ground last night, with chants of 'Is this a library?' heard at points throughout.

Meanwhile, Chris Sutton believes there is a title race between Celtic and Rangers this season.

That's despite Brendan Rodgers' side leading the way at the top of the Premiership by eight points, albeit the Ibrox club does have a game in hand.

The former Hoops striker appeared on Sky Sports last night as Philippe Clement's side remained undefeated under the Belgian's watch. A first-half Abdallah Sima goal was enough for Rangers to claim all three points against Hearts.
