Celtic news headlines as Bristol City scouting mission revealed and Neil Lennon gives injury update

Here are your Celtic headlines for Monday 28 September

Lenny’s injury update

Neil Lennon confirmed that Albian Ajeti will miss Thursday’s Europa League play-off against FK Sarajevo, but Ryan Christie should be fit.

The Swiss striker had to be subbed after netting Celtic’s second goal in their 3-0 win over Hibs on Sunday, which Lennon described as their best performance of the season.

Christie took a sore one after a challenge but isn’t thought to be a doubt for Thursday’s game.

Frimpong on the fast track

Scott Brown has heaped praise on young duo Jeremie Frimpong and David Turnbull.

The pair impressed against Hibs at the weekend and Brown was singing their praises.

He also backed Leigh Griffiths to step up and rediscover his form after he returned to the squad, and could be in line for game time after Ajeti’s injury.

Scottish Cup semi-final confirmed

The details for Celtic’s Scottish Cup semi-final against Aberdeen were confirmed by the Scottish FA.

The Hoops will face the Dons at Hampden on Sunday 1 November for a place in the final against either Hearts or Hibs.

Penrice’s scouting mission

Head of recruitment Gary Penrice was spotted at Ashton Gate last Thursday.

He was watching Bristol City take on Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup, but it’s not clear exactly who he was casting his eye over with just over a week left of the transfer window.
