Celtic namechecked in Brondby chief's Benjamin Tahirovic transfer address

Brondby chief Julius Ohnesorge has admitted the club are open to selling Celtic target Benjamin Tahirovic.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina midfielder has been with his nation at the World Cup this summer which has allowed his club to assess the situation and take stock of what they have in front of them.

There is interest in the 23-year-old with the Hoops in particular reportedly keeping a close eye on the defensive-minded Tahirovic.

But while Ohnesorge believes the player could leave Denmark this season, he has namechecked Celtic and revealed there has been no official offers on the table from the Scottish champions.

Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with the international but, again, Ohnesorge says no bids have arrived even if the Superliga outfit would consider moving him on.

Speaking to TV2, the sporting director said: "He's just finished the World Cup and isn't here right now, so we'll look at the situation with him and his agent when he gets back.

"He can spend the summer talking to his family about what the next step will bring. Whether it's competing here in a strong squad or whether it's at another club.

"Yes, we are open (to selling) but it's about having the right solution ready. With Max Ejdum we have gained some security and stability in the number 8 position, but regardless, there must be a clear interest from the player in a transfer as well as a clear interest from another club for an amount that is beneficial to us.

"I haven't heard from either Celtic or Dortmund and I don't follow that kind of thing to be honest. But it's always good to hear that there is interest in our players."
