Celtic moaners are champion hypocrites over refs and that's why they can't shut up about Rangers - Hotline

Willie Collum received a Hotline red card as fans from across the Old Firm divide were unanimous in giving the referee his marching orders. After another controversial display at Ibrox at the weekend, the whistler was in the firing line.

Stuart McLeod, Stepps, emailed: "Another day but the same old bleating from the Celtic fans about referees. We never heard anything from them for a few weeks as they were getting some favourable decisions but now it's an injustice. Willie Collum certainly got the red card wrong on Saturday in the Rangers game against St Johnstone. There was no difference between Nicky Clark and Ryan Jack in the tackles. Celtic fans never let the truth get in the way of a good conspiracy."

George Wilson, West Sussex, emailed: "It's clear that Collum is a very poor referee as are most referees in Scotland. He makes some appalling decisions but the many Celtic supporters on this page, online and on the radio who suggest dark forces are at work and there is a pro Rangers and anti-Celtic conspiracy really ought to look at themselves. Do you really think secret meetings are being held to plot in favour of Rangers and against Celtic? Who exactly are leading these conspiracy plots and where? In view of the number of trophies Celtic have won recently any anti Celtic plot has obviously failed and the comments of some of their supporters are as ludicrous as some of Collum's decisions. He is just a bad referee."

Jimmy Mac, Glasgow, emailed: "All the Celtic fans on the Hotline are totally obsessed with Rangers and they seldom mention their own team, which begs the question: Are most of them, if not all, armchair fans? Their Rangers paranoia is unbelievable and almost daily they claim there's a conspiracy against Celtic until they get the rub of the green and they believe every referee in Scotland is a Rangers fan."

Steve Macleod, Wokingham, said: "As usual, one bad decision where Clark’s undeserved red, has set the conspiracy brigade off so let’s remind them that the first advantage they had this season was John Lundstram’s ludicrous rescinded red at Easter Road. When it comes to receiving cards Celtic are by far the league’s most leniently affected."

Chris Lowe, Yoker, emailed: "You've got to laugh at the moaning Celtic fans over VAR. Have they forgotten how they got to the League Cup Final only 14 days or so ago? The most blatant penalty this season denied by, you’ve guessed it, Willie Collum, and then old foe Kevin Clancy gets involved and awards them a highly controversial penalty against Morton in the next game. Collum for once got the three decisions correct in the Rangers game, Celtic can’t handle the scrutiny as they’ve got away with decisions for decades and the level playing field is annoying them."

Bud Hay, Dumfries, emailed: "Rangers struggled against St Johnstone so bring on the game against Celtic. The Rangers fans won't be bragging about how many games they have won after that, unless the referee is on their side as per usual."

Robert Livingstone, Palm Beach, emailed: "Lots of names are banded around for the Aberdeen job, why not throw in a wildcard like Steven Gerrard. He's got a good SPFL track record, after all, he won the Premiership by a record 25 points margin completely unbeaten, respected by players and media. Dave Cormack's reputation is in tatters by his own making, it's the last chance saloon for him, the difficulty of picking a winner."

Martin Leggat emailed: "After Livingston manager David Martindale's words about points per pound he finally got it right . Celtic with correct management and business model have earned the right to purchase players for good money and pay well as they have maintained a good financial position whilst most other teams in the top league have not."

Neil Renton, Edinburgh, emailed: "I had to laugh at reports Aberdeen are after Marti Cifuentes to replace Jim Goodwin as manager. They’re in so much of a free fall they’d be struggling to get Marti Pellow to take charge."

Kenny Goff emailed: "What a fabulous idea by Celtic to open the club lounge and the stadium to help feed the people in need. It was brilliant so well done to everyone."
