Andre Villas-Boas shot into contention for the Celtic job on Monday - but 24 hours later and there is a new frontrunner to take over at Parkhead, according to one bookie at least.
Roberto Martinez is odds-on favourite for the Parkhead job with Paddy Power after a flurry of bets.
The Belgium boss is now 4/6 to be Brendan Rodgers ' permanent replacement, in from 4/1.
That sees him leapfrog current incumbent Neil Lennon (3/1) with Villas-Boas next in the ranking at 4/1.
A spokesman for Paddy Power said: “Martinez’s Belgium are amongst the favourites to win Euro 2020 next summer, so this would be a strange one.
“Then again, maybe he wants more of a guarantee of silverware, which he’d certainly get at Celtic, as they close in on nine consecutive Scottish trophies.”
