Celtic make change to Green Brigade section with ultras left on the outside looking in

Celtic have covered the rail seating section that usually houses the Green Brigade with a banner with the club's crest emblazoned on it.

The ultras have been banned for tonight's Europa League clash with Rennes after the club acted over illicit chanting and the release of pyrotechnics that have landed them in hot water with UEFA .

Celtic have been slapped on the wrist on three occasions by the governing body and the Green Brigade have paid the price with their 14 rows within the standing area being closed.

They savaged the club over the "vindictive" move but chief executive Peter Lawwell insisted at the club's AGM that unacceptable incidents must be come a thing of the past.

The Green Brigade were previously banned for two games after releasing an offensive banner during their Champions League qualifying win over Linfield - but on that occasion no alterations were made.

But the club left their section bare on that occasion but have added the sheet ahead of the showdown with the Ligue 1 side.

Celtic have already reached the last 32 of the Europa League but can win their group with a victory tonight and Cluj losing away to Lazio.

But the Hoops will have to do it without talisman Odsonne Edouard who isn't in the squad.
