Celtic have 'maintained' an interest in Charlton midfielder Alfie Doughty as Stoke City become the latest club to enter the running for his signature.
The versatile player's contract runs out in the summer and Charlton are looking to cash in on the Englishman in January, instead of losing him for nothing in six months time.
The Parkhead side had multiple bids knocked back in the last window, but they are still keen on making a move for Doughty, reports the Daily Record.
Celtic could get Doughty for a 'cut-price' fee due to cross-border rules, but they could be force to move quickly as interest hots up.
Several English sides have been linked with the playmaker with Stoke making an official move on Tuesday.
The English Championship side made a six figure bid for the in-demand star.
Doughty could solve Celtic's left-back problems as Diego Laxalt is set to return to parent club Milan after his loan spell at the end of the season, while Greg Taylor has struggled to cement a starting spot.
