Celtic-linked Kasper Dolberg has lifted the lid on his 'easy decision' to return to Ajax this summer.
The Bhoys were widely mentioned as a potential suitor for the striker and reportedly had multiple bids for his services rejected as they sought to sign a striker.
They ultimately drafted in free agent Kelechi Iheanacho the day after the summer transfer window shut, shortly following Dolberg's move back to the Netherlands.
"I wanted to go back home because it's Ajax," he told De Telegraaf. "And because Ajax will always be something special to me.

"I know the club, I know how special it is and how great it is here. And it was the right time to do it. After I got the chance, I had no doubts
"The conversation with the sporting director [Alex Kroes] and the coach [John Heitinga] was good, and that made me even more enthusiastic. It had to happen. Although I could only hope the transfer would go through.
"That was a very easy decision, because I wanted to go to Ajax, and nothing else mattered.
"In the Danish training camp, I had to stay focused, do my thing, and hope the clubs would reach an agreement. Unfortunately, I had no influence on that."
Dolberg scored 45 goals in 119 appearances during his first spell at Ajax. He could make his second debut for the club this weekend against PEC Zwolle.
