Celtic line-up vs Ross County predicted as Neil Lennon picks new look side for Betfred Cup clash

Neil Lennon will be looking for a big reaction from his Celtic players after their Europa League exit midweek.

The Parkhead side suffered a humiliating 4-1 defeat to Sparta Prague as they crashed out of the group stage with two games remaining.

However, they don't have time to mull it over as their attention turns to defending their Betfred Cup crown against Ross County.

Lennon will likely make various changes from midweek, but expect a strong side to be put out this afternoon. The Hoops manager is well aware of the importance of reaching the next round with the pressure mounting on him.

Vasilis Barkas should replace Scott Bain who had a disappointing performance against the Czech side.

Christopher Jullien will continue to get reps in as he returns to full fitness and could be partnered in defence by Nir Bitton as Kris Ajer is rested.

Jeremie Frimpong is suspended so Hatem Abd Elhamed will retain his place in the side, with Greg Taylor getting a chance on the other flank.

Lennon should rest skipper Scott Brown and have a midfield four of Callum McGregor, Olivier Ntcham, Ryan Christie and Moi Elyounoussi in a new look 4-4-2 formation.

Lennon should opt for two up front as they look to go on the front foot right from the off. Odsonne Edouard and Albian Ajeti have barely played together this season and it's a good chance for them to strike up an understanding against the Staggies.

Celtic predicted XI: Barkas, Elhamed, Jullien, Bitton, Taylor, Ntcham, McGregor, Christie, Elyounoussi, Edouard, Ajeti.
