Celtic line-up vs Hearts predicted as Neil Lennon ditches sentimental approach for Scottish Cup Final

Neil Lennon admitted last weekend he might need to be loyal to the players who helped Celtic reach the Scottish Cup Final.

The Hoops have won back-to-back games against Lille and Kilmarnock as fringe stars such as David Turnbull and Ismaila Soro have impressed the Parkhead boss.

But the big question is whether Lennon will stick with the in-form pair or call on his more experienced players for the Hearts clash, like Scott Brown, who has been left out in recent weeks.

Lennon's comments suggested the latter, but then he backtracked somewhat in the lead up to the game as he insisted there is no room for sentimentality.

He said: “We’re more or less set on the team. We might have to make a decision on one position, but there will be no sentimentality or anything like that. We’re going to pick a team to win the game.”

Lennon's team selection has been hard to predict throughout the season and Sunday will be no different.

But if there is no place for sentimentality, he should stick with the players who have turned the corner for Celtic.

Conor Hazard should keep his place in goals with a back four of Jeremie Frimpong, Kris Ajer, Christopher Jullien and Diego Laxalt.

Lennon should pick a midfield three of Callum McGregor, Soro and Turnbull with a front three of Ryan Christie, Mohamed Elyounoussi and Odsonne Edouard.

Celtic predicted XI vs Hearts: Hazard, Frimpong, Ajer, Jullien, Laxalt, Soro, McGregor, Turnbull, Christie, Elyounoussi, Edouard.
