Celtic legend leaves Scottish Championship manager’s job after nine-game winless run

Celtic legend Scott Brown has left Scottish Championship club Ayr United by “mutual consent”.
Brown, 40, who won 10 league titles as a player with Celtic, and also earned 55 caps for Scotland, was appointed Ayr manager in January 2024.
He has now left the club following a run of nine games without a win in all competitions.
Ayr were beaten 3-0 by Raith Rovers on Friday night and are now eighth in the Scottish Championship table.
Ayr confirmed that Jamie Murphy, Tommy Tait and Dave Timmins would take training on Monday, while adding that there would be further communication over an interim position “in due course”.
