Celtic legend John Hartson urges fans to stay indoors

John Hartson has released a video on his birthday thanking fans for their messages and urging them to stay indoors.

The former Celtic striker, who scored 109 goals in 203 appearances during his time at Celtic Park, turned 45 today and marked the occasion by uploading a video on Twitter.

Hartson's stunning strike against Liverpool in 2003 recently came sixth in a Glasgow Live Sport poll of Celtic fans' all-time favourite goals.

In today's video, Hartson said: "Hello everybody, how we doing?

"I just want to say a huge thank you to every single person who has sent me a birthday message.

"I am in the house, not doing a lot, probably like everybody else, but at least I'm in the house.

"The furthest I've been is to the local park to take the dog for a walk.

"Went yesterday for about 40 minutes. The wife went the day before.

"Sarah's been up to Asda to get a few bits and bobs, just to keep ticking over with a bit of food and stuff for the kids. Breakfast, this that and the other.

"So, stay in everyone. Stay safe.

"My birthday is totally irrelevant. I just want people to be healthy and adhere to what the Government have set out.

"Stay safe, and best wishes to you all. Thanks again."
