Celtic legend John Hartson joins former team-mates in condemning Boli Bolingoli

John Hartson has joined the ranks of former Celtic players who have condemned Boli Bolingoli.

The defender is the subject of an investigation from his own club after neglecting to inform them of his trip to Spain and failing to isolate after returning to the country.

Bolingoli came on for the final three minutes of his side's 1-1 draw against Kilmarnock on Sunday, and the club have since apologised to the Rugby Park club.

Hartson's former team-mate Chris Sutton tweeted: "There should be no way back for Bolingoli at Celtic now. If he knowingly went to Spain before the Kilmarnock game and broke quarantine rules he showed he really doesn’t give a s*** about his teammates, the manager and the support...

"Celtic should get rid immediately."

Speaking on Twitter, Hartson said: "You know what annoys me about Bolingoli, I've worked through this pandemic, every single day, putting not only myself but my family at risk.

"I've paid for my season tickets for me and my son to watch my team, and his actions have ruined it. I'm so angry."

Hartson and Sutton played alongside Neil Lennon during their time in Glasgow, and the Celtic manager was scathing in his assessment of Bolingoli's actions.

At a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, Lennon said: “This is a rogue who has gone off tangent and has done something very very selfish. We have been completely oblivious to this. I’m absolutely livid. It’s a total betrayal of our trust."
