Celtic legend Chris Sutton slams vile trolls as Hoops hero's daughter left 'very upset' over targeted abuse

Chris Sutton has vowed to go the police after his daughter was left shaken over frightening abuse aimed in the direction of the Celtic legend.

The Record Sport pundit is a smash-hit due to his work covering the Scottish Premiership and his role with BT Sport has earned widespread praise.

But the Hoops hero has been left angry after his seven-year-old child was repeatedly called during a sleepover with friends and Sutton has promised to get tough after his family was targeted.

Sutton posted on Twitter: "To all the people sending abusive messages.

"My daughter who is seven had my phone at a sleepover last night.

"She has my phone regularly and was called all night. She is very upset. I will be sending photos of the culprits out and passing your details onto the police."

The 46-year-old previously let rip at the "mindless morons" who sent him death threats earlier this year in the wake of the New Year Old Firm derby.

Sutton said in January: "Private messages were sent and I have dealt with it in the appropriate way.

"It is more upsetting for my wife and kids. Hopefully it is a prank otherwise I won't be here in a couple of weeks."

And several high-profile Scottish football stars have previously lifted the lid on abuse suffered online.

Rangers skipper James Tavernier posted screenshots of sickening messages he'd been sent on Instagram last season.
