Celtic legend Chris Sutton aims dig at Rangers following Hamilton defeat

There are few certainties in Scottish football these days, but one recurring theme is Rangers turning in disappointing domestic performances.

And when they do that, what's even more of a stick-on is Chris Sutton winding up their fans on Twitter.

Rangers made the pundit's job easy tonight, falling to a 1-0 defeat at home against Hamilton Accies.

Within seconds of the full-time whistle, Sutton tweeted: "Remarkable night... Celtic show some balls against impressive Livingston to get a point... Rangers lacking balls again and lose at home to Hamilton... the league looks academical now..."

The former Celtic forward had claimed earlier in the evening that a win for Celtic could secure the league, saying on BT Sport: "If Celtic win here tonight I think the league is done". His colleague Ally McCoist responded: "I do agree. Obviously it hurts me to admit it, but Rangers are looking for other teams to do them favours."

Following tonight's defeat, McCoist said: "It's a shocking result. Absolutely shocking result for Rangers."

Celtic didn't win, but a late Tom Rogic equaliser secured a 2-2 draw and ensured that their lead at the top of the Premiership was extended to 13 points.

Rangers remain active in the Europa League, but following Saturday's Scottish Cup defeat against Hearts they surely have nothing to play for domestically between now and May.
