Celtic kit launch delayed as UEFA restrictions see fans forced to wait for away shirts

Celtic fans will have to wait to get their hands on the new away kit, after the club was forced to delay its launch.

The lime green shirt, which is inspired by the 1985-86 away kits, was due go on sale from Tuesday.

However, Neil Lennon 's side are due to face KR Reykjavik in the first of this season's Champions League qualifiers on that day.

And UEFA 's coronavirus restrictions mean the launch event at Celtic Park has had to be pushed back 24 hours.

However, Celtic fans who have already pre-ordered can still expect to receive their kits in time for Tuesday.

A statement on the club's website said: "Due to unforeseen circumstances around UEFA restrictions placed on the stadium next week, we have unfortunately had no choice but to postpone the highly anticipated launch of the adidas x Celtic FC 2020/21 Away Kit launch.

"But don’t worry, for those who have pre-ordered online already, your kit should still be with you on Tuesday, August 18, but for those holding off to see the kit in real life, it will be in-stores on Wednesday, August 19.

We do apologise for any inconvenience this has caused."
