Celtic keep it familiar for 9 in a row chase as Neil Lennon confirms January plans

Celtic will return to Dubai in January as Neil Lennon looks to fuel the bid for 9 in a row in familiar climes.

The champions have confirmed they will travel to the UAE during the winter break for a fourth successive season - giving Lennon the opportunity to fine tune his players ahead of the Premiership run-in.

Celtic will again make use of the state-of-the-art Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex - recently used by Real Madrid, Manchester United and AC Milan.

Lennon said: “We know that Dubai has worked very well for us before over the past few years.

"It is somewhere that offers excellent facilities and delivers a really good training base at such an important time in the season, so we are delighted to be returning.”

Brendan Rodgers took Celtic to the Nad Al Sheba resort in January ahead of their successful run to an historic treble Treble.

Lennon replaced Rodgers in March following the Northern Irishman's departure to Leicester City.

But he will keep mid-season preparations as familiar as possible as the Hoops enjoy a spell of warm weather training while the Scottish Premiership shuts down for three weeks.

Celtic finish the first half of the season with a derby cracker against Rangers at Parkhead on December 29.

They don't return to action for three weeks, with the Scottish Cup fourth round scheduled for the weekend of January 18-19.
