Celtic join Chelsea and Arsenal in transfer hunt for son of Cardiff City legend Graham Kavanagh

Scottish giants Celtic have joined Chelsea and Arsenal in the hunt of a Cardiff City legend.

Calum Kavanagh, son of former Bluebird Graham, is currently making waves in Middlesbrough's academy - hence the interest from Premier League clubs.

And now it would appear Celtic are keen on the Ireland youth international.

According to the Scottish Sun, Neil Lennon's side are trying to tempt the 16-year-old with the prospect of a quicker path to first-team football.

They report that Kavanagh has yet to sort out a long-term contract with Middlesbrough that suits him.

Leicester City and Newcastle United are also believed to be interested in Kavanagh.

Speaking about his son, Graham recently told WalesOnline : “For the age he is at and what he is doing, he is certainly a better prospect than I was at that age.

“He’s got a great mindset, is very professional, very driven and tough, mentally strong. He’s definitely got a chance.”
