Celtic 'interested' in La Liga goalkeeper as club hits out over 'tapping up'

Celtic have been credited with an interest in Las Palmas' Croatian keeper Dinko Horkas.

The Hoops are on the hunt for a new goalkeeper, after the retirement of veteran Danish shotstopper Kasper Schmeichel.

And reports in Spain have suggested they are in a three-way fight with Olympiacos and Sevilla to land the 27-year-old.

Horkas earned plenty of praise in the second tier of Spanish football as Las Palmas, despite the club failing in their bid to return to La Liga.

And Celtic have reportedly scouted the highly-rated former Dinamo Zagreb and Lokomotiv Plovdiv player.

Horkas still has two years left of his contract and Las Palmas value him at £6 million.

However, Las Palmas president Miguel Angel Ramírez hit out this week after he suggested clubs may be tapping up their keeper.

He said: "We haven't received any official offers from Dinko, although we know there are interested clubs.

"But those clubs have got off to a bad start with us, because they're negotiating with him without negotiating with us.

"We want to keep him at the club.

"We have managed to get Jose Antonio Caro to sign a new contract with us and we want to have two great goalkeepers at the club."
