Celtic injury update as Christopher Jullien return tempers James Forrest blow

Neil Lennon has admitted there's good news and bad news on the injury front for Celtic.

Winger Mikey Johnston is back in training while defender Christopher Jullien, a key man at the back, will return soon.

The centre-back has overcome a back issue while youngster Johnston is available to train for the first time since a knee injury in January.

Less positive is the news that talisman winger James Forrest will be out for at least six weeks, and potentially longer, with an ankle injury that required surgery to correct.

Neil Lennon explained the situation as he assessed the state of his squad ahead of Thursday's Europa League clash with Sparta Prague.

He said "Mikey Johnston has been training but he'll be a while yet.

"Christopher Jullien will resume training soon, hopefully he'll be back in contention after the international break.

"James Forrest had surgery this week so will miss a considerable time."

"His foot was in a pot, a boot, for the last couple of weeks but when it came out of the boot there was no significant improvement, in fact it was getting worse.

"So he went to see a specialist and he recommended the surgery being done, and it was done yesterday.

"We think it has been a success but we are looking at quite a considerable time out still.

"Best-case scenario is probably six to eight weeks - but it may be longer than that. We will see how he settles after the surgery."
