Celtic increase lead over Rangers thanks to late Tom Rogic equaliser against Livingston

It was a night of shocks in the Premiership as neither of the top two sides managed a victory.

Celtic travelled to the Tony Macaroni Arena having already been beaten by Gary Holt's Livingston side in October, but it appears that not all the necessary lessons have been learned since that encounter.

Neil Lennon's side took the lead after 16 minutes when Callum McGregor fired past Livingston keeper Robby McCrorie from outside the box. The home side were level eight minutes later, however, when Jon Guthrie capitalised on a mistake by Fraser Forster.

Anyone expecting a more intense performance from Celtic in the second half was in for a shock, with Livi taking a 2-1 lead just one minute after the restart. After good work down the right hand side Lyndon Dykes set up Scott Robinson who finished calmly.

Celtic passed up opportunities through Odsonne Edouard as they endured a frustrating night, but Tom Rogic slotted home an equaliser inside injury time.

News of a goal for Hamilton Accies against Rangers at Ibrox brought a brief cheer from the away support, but ultimately Neil Lennon will be frustrated not to have fully capitalised and extended their lead at the top of the table to 15 points.

Prior to the match, Lennon had warned: "They're a strong team at home and we need to be very strong and resolute.

"Livi are an honest team. I've got a lot of respect for them. I know how difficult a game it is so we'll have to be at our best."

Celtic were not at their best, but a draw has at least extended their lead to 13 points and surely put Rangers out of sight.
