Celtic in Premiership fixture change as final home game of the season brought forward

The penultimate game of Celtic's season has been brought forward in yet another kick-off time switch.

Interim manager John Kennedy will see out the season at the fallen champions and it's almost certainly too little, too late in terms of using the final two fixtures as an audition for the full-time gig.

But he has to pick his side up from a 4-1 derby loss to Rangers to take on a home match against Double-chasing St Johnstone next midweek followed by a trip to face Hibs at Easter Road.

And now the Saints clash - the final game at Parkhead this season - has seen a change to the kick-off time at the request of both clubs.

The game will be used as a tribute to departing captain Scott Brown, with fans invited to bring banners, scarves and flags to Celtic Park.

Originally slated for a 7.45pm kick-off on Wednesday, May 12, it will now get under way at 6.30pm.

It's the latest in a long line of fixture changes we've seen across the league this season with dates and times shifted to suit teams while fans are still locked out of grounds because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Parkhead club have this weekend off as it's Scottish Cup semi-final weekend while Saints are off to Hampden to take on St Mirren for a place in the end-of-season finale - in a bid to add to the Betfred Cup won by Callum Davidson's side earlier this year.
