Celtic in Joe Hart talks as Craig Gordon says goodbye

Celtic have entered negotiations with former England goalkeeper Joe Hart.

Fraser Forster was a key part of Celtic's title win during his second spell at the club last season, but remains a Southampton player after his Celtic Park loan period ended.

Forster remains manager Neil Lennon's top goalkeeping target, but with a deal yet to be struck and Craig Gordon on his way out former Manchester City keeper Hart has come into the picture.

Record Sport have quoted a Celtic source as saying: “There were talks last week with Hart’s people and there are further discussions planned to take place before the weekend.

"It has all been very positive so far but obviously a lot is going to depend on what Fraser’s situation is at Southampton."

33-year-old Hart has made 75 appearances for England and is currently at Burnley.

Gordon, meanwhile, said goodbye to the club in an Instagram post on Sunday night.

The 37-year-old said: "Six League Titles. Five League Cups. Three Scottish Cups.

"The last six years have been the most successful period of my professional career, and I would like to thank everyone who has played their part in making this possible."
