Celtic are making attempts to sign Rayo Vallecano defender Nobel Mendy, according to a report.
Despite being yet to make a signing this summer, the Parkhead club were last night reported to be in the runnng for Torino midfielder Gvidas Gineitas.
And they are now being linked to centre half Mendy.
The 21-year-old actually appeared close to joining Rangers last summer with a deal agreed but he ended up joining Vallecano on loan from Real Betis, which has since been made permanent.
He has impressed in La Liga and was part of his side's run to the Conference League final, appearing as a substitute in the defeat to Crystal Palace.

Now, Marca journalist Matteo Moretto is claiming Celtic are one of the club bidding for the Senegal international, who did not make the World Cup squad.
However, Bundesliga pair Eintracht Frankfurt and Stuttgart are in the mix too.
Mendy has a contract with the La Liga side until 2030.
Celtic are looking to add to their centre-back options which currently include Cameron Carter-Vickers, Auston Trusty, Liam Scales, Dane Murray and Maik Nawrocki.
