Martin O'Neill has urged calm regarding Brendan Rodgers' Celtic contract situation.
The Northern Irishman is into the final 12 months of his current deal at Celtic Park.
When previously asked, Rodgers has made it clear that he's in no rush to decide on his future.
Appearing on talkSPORT this morning, though, O'Neill reckons if the club's owner, Dermot Desmond, wants a new deal to happen, then it will all be in hand.
“Brendan is saying, north of the border, he’s not in too much of a rush to discuss a new deal with Dermot Desmond," Jim White said when opening the conversation. "Would that be about right? Is he just getting his thoughts together?”
O’Neill responded: “I don’t think there will be any major rush there for that. I think what he has done up there has been terrific.
“In all honesty, if Dermot is involved, which he will be strongly, then I don’t think there is anything to worry about.
"I wouldn’t be too worried about the situation at all. It depends on what Brendan wants to do. I assume Celtic will want to keep him.
“But I have had dealings with Dermot Desmond. Dermot brought me into the football club.
"If Dermot wants to keep him, he will go out of his way to do so. It’s really as simple as that.”
