Celtic icon Mikael Lustig handed bum draw after AIK's shirt stunt goes wrong

Former defender Mikael Lustig got the Swedish season off to a bum note last night - after being handed a rather unfortunate temporary new name for the back of his jersey.

The 34-year-old is back in his homeland with AIK Solna, who kicked-off their Allsvenskan campaign off with a fairly routine 2-0 home victory over newly-promoted minnows Degerfors on Monday evening.

In order to keep fans engaged with the club during the ongoing pandemic, AIK had decided their side would take to the field with each player wearing the name of a season ticket holder unable to attend the match.

And - for 90 minutes at least - the former Sweden international was renamed Mikael LOOstig after being handed the task of representing a fan named Carl-Johan Loo.

Lustig went on to play the full 90 minutes in the unfamiliar attire and AIK will continue to play with supporters' names on the reverse of their shirts in their upcoming fixtures away to Goteborg on Monday.

On top of the gesture, the AIK hierarchy have revealed they will be etching the names of every season ticket holder into the home dressing room wall as a way of recognising their support during the Coronavirus outbreak.

Lustig enjoyed seven trophy-laden years with Celtic where he lifted 16 trophies under Neil Lennon, Ronny Deila and Brendan Rodgers.
